DDIG Partners with Ghana Tech University for Diaspora Mentorship Program
In a groundbreaking collaboration, DDIG has partnered with Ghana Tech University to launch a comprehensive
diaspora mentorship program. This initiative connects experienced Ghanaian/African professionals living
abroad with students and young professionals in Ghana, fostering knowledge transfer and career development.
The program focuses on key sectors including technology, engineering, environmental sciences, and finance.
Over 50 diaspora professionals have already signed up as mentors, committing to virtual and in-person
sessions with Ghanaian mentees.

Diaspora Professionals Contribute to 30% Growth in Renewable Energy Projects
The expertise of diaspora professionals has accelerated Ghana's transition to sustainable energy solutions,
contributing to a 30% increase in renewable energy projects over the past year. DDIG's Energy Task Force,
comprising engineers and environmental scientists from across the diaspora, has been instrumental in this achievement.
Key projects include solar power installations in rural communities, wind energy feasibility studies, and
training programs for local technicians. The diaspora contribution includes both technical expertise and
investment in sustainable energy infrastructure.

Mark your calendars for the most anticipated diaspora event of the year! The Annual Diaspora Homecoming
Conference 2025 will be held from August 15-17 in Accra, Ghana. This year's theme: "Building Bridges for
Sustainable Development" brings together diaspora professionals, government officials, and local stakeholders.
The conference features keynote addresses from leading diaspora experts, sector-specific workshops,
networking sessions, and project showcase exhibitions. Registration is now open with early bird discounts

Diaspora Education Initiative Launches Scholarship Program for STEM Students
DDIG's Education Committee has launched a new scholarship program targeting talented Ghanaian students
pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) degrees. Funded by diaspora contributions,
the program will support 100 students annually with full tuition and mentorship opportunities.
